Japan: Intense Rain Hits Evening Rush Hour In Tokyo, Trains Suspended 8

Heavy rainfall hit the Tokyo metropolitan area on Wednesday, August 21 disrupting some train services during evening rush hour. Videos posted on social media shows water falling from ceilings like a waterfall inside stations and streets flooded like a river across the city.

Unseasonable cherry blossoms in typhoon-hit area

NACHIKATSUURA, Japan - A cherry tree blooms by the side of the Nachi River in the typhoon-hit town of Nachikatsuura, Wakayama Prefecture, on Sept. 29, 2011. Experts said the tree might have unseasonably bloomed after heavy rain brought by Typhoon Talas in early September deprived it of its leaves and prevented it from entering a dormant state before blooming next spring.
