TOKYO, Japan - Mizuho Fukushima, secretary general of the minor opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP), arrives at the party headquarters in Tokyo's Nagata-cho to attend a general assembly of SDP lawmakers on Nov. 15. The meeting later appointed Fukushima as new party leader to replace Takako Doi, who resigned to take responsibility for the party's poor performance in Nov. 9 general election.
