Japan's Nakaga 7th in women's weightlifting

SYDNEY, Australia - Japan's Mari Nakaga hoists 105 kg in the clean and jerk to earn seventh place in the women's 53-kg weightlifting competition at the Sydney Olympics on Sept. 18. Nakaga also snatched 77.5 kg for a total of 182.5 kg at the Sydney Convention Center.

Japan, India to launch $6 bil. currency swap scheme in spring

NEW DELHI, India - Japanese Finance Minister Fukushiro Nukaga (L) meets with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (R) at the Indian prime minister's office in New Delhi on Jan. 4.
