Mexico: Hurricane Erick Makes Landfall in Oaxaca, Bringing Torrential Rain, High Winds

Hurricane Erick made landfall in Mexico's southern state of Oaxaca as a Category 3 hurricane on early Thursday, June 19, damaging businesses and homes. The storm rapidly weakened to a Tropical Depression, but officials warned that it would continue to produce heavy rainfall, making life-threatening flooding and mudslides likely.
