The main duties of the vessel include maritime law enforcement, fisheries and customs control, and search and rescue operations. It will be officially commissioned in January 2023. The vessel was designed and built in Italy and cost around 48.6 million euros (about 48.91 million U.S. dollars). It was co-financed through the Internal Security Fund of the European Union.
