The complex is operated by the semipublic Phoenix Resort Ltd. which along with two Seagaia group firms filed for bankruptcy protection with the Miyazaki District Court the same day. A Seagaia group spokesman said the three companies' liabilities are estimated at 326.1 billion yen, making it the largest failure for a semipublic entity.
