Deep Impact achieves triple crown with Kikka-sho win

KYOTO, Japan - File photo shows overwhelming favorite Deep Impact (L) outclasses the field to win the Kikka-sho at Kyoto Racecourse and became only the sixth triple crown winner and first in 11 years in Japanese horse racing. Steered by star jockey Yutaka Take, Deep Impact stormed past front-running Admire Japan (R) in the final furlong with his trademark homestretch run for a two-length victory that made the three-year colt the first unbeaten triple crown winner in 21 years. The photo was taken on Oct. 23, 2005.
