Gion Festival's revived "ofunehoko" float

KYOTO, Japan - Colorful "susomaku" cloth decorating the Kyoto Gion Festival's "ofunehoko" float, which is currently being reconstructed after it was severely damaged by fire 150 years ago, is unveiled to the media in Kyoto on Feb. 13, 2014, along with costumes for "ondotori" worn by two men in front.

KYOTO, Japan - "Ofunehoko," a Gion Festival float under restoration since 2010 after it was nearly lost in fire 150 years ago, is unveiled Jan. 15, 2014, in Kyoto before completion. The float is one of the "Yamahoko" floats used during the annual Gion Festival in Kyoto.
