MATSUE, Japan - An Aug. 8, 2013, photo shows Nishinoshima island of the Oki Islands, Shimane Prefecture, in the Sea of Japan. The UNESCO Global Geoparks Network announced on Sept. 9, 2013, it will add the Oki Islands to its geoparks list.

Oil slick from sunken ship reaches near Hyogo Pref. coast

HYOGO, Japan - Fishing industry people are collecting oil from the sunken Belizean-registered cargo ship AIGE off Hamasaka, Hyogo Prefecture, on April 4. The ship, sunk to a depth of 170 meters, is still leaking oil after a collision off Oki Islands, Shimane Prefecture, on March 31.
