Former Hankyu Braves star Spencer dies at 88

Photo taken in 1971 shows Daryl Spencer, a key member of Japan's Hankyu Braves' Pacific League dynasty of the 1960s and early 1970s. It was reported in Japan on Jan. 3, 2017, that Spencer, who played 10 seasons in the majors before moving to the Braves -- the forerunners of the current Orix Buffaloes -- in 1964, has died aged 88.
