Thai university confers degree on Japanese prince

BANGKOK, Thailand - Thailand's Chulalongkorn University confers an honorary degree Aug. 4 on Japan's Prince Akishino (L) to mark his research in ichthyology and ornithology. The prince, in Thailand with his wife, Princess Kiko (far R), between Aug. 2 and Aug. 5, received a similar degree from Srinakharinwirot University as well. He visited Thailand more than 10 times to study birds and fish in the region.
