The announcement followed final checkups of the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system that will apply to the so-called BOJ net, the bank transaction system concerning bond deals and day-to-day banking operations.

TOKYO, Japan - Carl S. Shoup (shown in this file photo), a U.S. scholar who laid the basis of Japan's postwar tax system, died in New Hampshire on March 23, the Japanese Finance Ministry said March 28. He was 97.
