Restoration of Nara temple

The removal of roof tiles at Kohfuku-ji temple's five-story pagoda, in Nara, western Japan, is unveiled to the media on Sept. 10, 2025, as part of its first major repairs in about 120 years. Work is expected to be completed in March 2034 and will entail removal of approximately 60,000 tiles.
