OSAKA, Japan - Officials from the Osaka city health center check water from a drinking fountain at the Universal Studios Japan (USJ) theme park in Osaka's Konohana Ward on July 23. The fountain used untreated industrial water during the nine months after the park opened provisionally in March 2001 due to mislaid piping.

New robot unveiled for probing reactor gear at Fukushima station

The International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) and Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy Ltd. unveil at a Hitachi-GE plant in Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture, eastern Japan, on Feb. 5, 2015, a new tubular-shaped robot to be used for probing containment vessels of nuclear reactors at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi atomic power plant.
