Acehnese women guerrillas join separatist anniversary ceremony

ACEH, Indonesia - Women guerrillas joined thousands of Acehnese people in the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the separatist Free Aceh Movement, held at Pandrah Jeuneung, a tiny North Aceh village, on Dec. 4, 1999. When an Islamic priest offered a prayer, many of the Acehnese women, including the women soldiers, began crying. ACEH, Indonesia - Local Acehnese and guerrilla soldiers gathered in the Pandrah Jeuneung village, North Aceh, on Dec. 4, 1999, to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the separatist Free Aceh Movement.
