TOKYO, Japan - As record heat waves engulf Japan in recent days, more and more Japanese men are seen hoisting umbrellas to protect themselves against the scorching sun. As parasols are traditionally part of the female accessory in Japan, Japanese men have so far shied away from being seen with anything close to an umbrella on a sunny day. The photo shows three members of the ''Okinawa Friends of Parasol'' proudly holding their ''men's parasols'' in an attempt to convince their fellowmen to follow suit.
