Spain: Winter Arrives With Snow Across Several Regions

Spain is experiencing its first major winter storm, bringing snow across several regions. Yellow warnings are in effect for Ávila and Segovia, while icy conditions have closed the only road to Peñalba de Santiago in León. Temperatures dropped sharply at La Covatilla ski resort in Salamanca, reaching –6.1°C, the ninth-lowest in Spain that morning.

Spain: Pico del Lobo Wildfire Raised to Level 2 Alert, Prompts Evacuations

A wildfire on Pico del Lobo, Guadalajara, broke out on Sunday, September 21, prompting Castilla-La Mancha to raise its status to level 2. Evacuation orders were issued for Peñalba de la Sierra and Cabida. Reports indicate the flames have begun to affect non-forest property.
