Spain: Atlantic Front Brings Heavy Rainfall and Drop in Temperatures, Some Areas See Snow

While the severe weather alerts in the Mediterranean have eased, heavy rain persists on Wednesday, December 17, in the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, and coastal Catalonia. A new Atlantic front is set to approach Spain, bringing a significant drop in temperatures and a fresh round of widespread rainfall. This shift will also lower the snow level to approximately 1,000 meters, signaling a transition to colder, more wintry conditions for much of the country.

UK: Severe Weather Persists Across Country, Travel Chaos Continues

Warnings for snow, ice, and rain are in place across parts of the UK on Monday, January 6, after snow and freezing rain swept across the country over the weekend. Parts of England are being warned of potential flooding due to rain and melting snow caused by milder temperatures. This video was shot in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, by Demi Lewis, who was traveling with her partner Nathan Christopher Kelemen. According to Nathan, they were heading home from Manchester Airport when they were diverted due to the weather. They spun out multiple times, slid backwards down hills twice, and genuinely feared they would be stranded until the snow cleared. Fortunately, they were driving a four-wheel-drive Kia Sportage, which helped them through the tough conditions, though they passed many stranded people along the way. The trip, which should have taken 1 hour and 20 minutes, took almost 4 hours due to the conditions, Nathan added.
