Karel Malich

***OCTOBER 14, 2004 FILE PHOTO*** Sculptor, painter and graphic author Karel Malich, one of the most renowned Czech artists of the second half of the 20th century, died at the age of 95 today, on October 24, 2019, Nikola Bukajova, from the Zdenek Sklenar Gallery that represented Malich for many years, has told CTK. Malich's best known works are his colourful pastels and the objects he made of wires in the early 1970s as a way to record energy processes, a matter he dealt with for most of his artistic life. In his works, his internal experience close to a mystical feeling of his self and his internal light, combines with his knowledge of physics and the works of leading scientists that profoundly changed the mankind's idea of the shape and functioning of the outer space. He previously said that for all his life he strived to create the invisible such as the light and energy streams, and reach harmony and balance in his works. (CTK Photo/Stanislav Peska)
