RECAP – Major Flooding Hits Chiang Mai, Thailand

Heavy rainfall swept through northern Thailand on Friday, October 4, causing the second major flood within a week. Residents of Chiang Mai and surrounding areas were forced to evacuate to higher ground, and evacuation efforts were underway for more than 100 elephants and other animals at the Elephant Nature Park.

The exhibition, which runs from Sept. 10, 2023 to Jan. 7, 2024, represents a "once in a lifetime opportunity" for Americans to see some of the "absolutely extraordinary" artworks from China, said Griswold.
