Taiwan: Typhoon Fung-wong Brings Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds Ahead of Landfall

The Central Weather Administration issued a land warning on Tuesday, November 11, as Typhoon Fung-wong approached southern Taiwan. Mass evacuations were carried out for residents in the eastern part of the country, with the storm expected to make landfall in Kaohsiung or Pingtung by Wednesday evening or night. Typhoon Krathon was expected to make landfall in Kaohsiung at midday on October 3. Before its formal arrival, it had already brought gusty winds and heavy rainfall, causing damage that included downed trees and flooding in various cities.
