It's a flight of only 30 minutes or so but one that will go down in history. This Tuesday morning, aboard a Pipistrel Velis electro, Prince Albert II of Monaco became the very first head of state to take to the skies in a 100% electric aircraft, claimed Nice airport, from where the aircraft departed and landed. The Slovenian company's two-seater, piloted by Raphaël Domjan, who was at the controls of the SolarStratos solar plane, took off at 9.30am.
