Aeon to set up electric car battery chargers at shopping malls

TOKYO, Japan - The supermarket operator Aeon Co. plans to set up battery chargers for the vehicles at its shopping malls. The photo shows Mitsubishi Motors Corp.'s electric car MiEV (R), which will be launched in September next year, and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.'s electric car R1e (L), which will also be released next year.

TOKYO, Japan - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. President Kyoji Takenaka unveils in Tokyo on Aug. 18 a Subaru R1e electric minicar concept model that uses high-performance lithium-ion batteries the automaker says will help it compete against others in developing environment-friendly vehicles.
