US: Snow Squalls Prompt Alerts in Northern New Jersey

Snow alerts were issued Sunday, January 11, for six counties in northern New Jersey as snow squalls and strong winds threatened to reduce visibility and create hazardous road conditions through the evening.

UK: Storm Goretti Whips Up Powerful Waves Along Cornwall Coast 2

This video shows whipped up waves hitting the coast in Porthleven, Cornwall on Thursday, January 8. Storm Goretti left widespread disruption across southwest England and the Channel Islands, with powerful winds causing power outages, road closures, and school disruptions. Gusts reached up to 99 mph in the Isles of Scilly, leaving more than 42,000 properties without electricity in Cornwall, hundreds affected in Devon and the Channel Islands, and forcing school closures, evacuations, and transport disruptions.
