Microsoft Japan announces presidency reshuffle

TOKYO, Japan - Darren Huston (in file photo), corporate vice president of U.S. software giant Microsoft Corp., will replace Michael Rawding as president and chief executive officer of Microsoft Co. on July 1, the Japan unit of Microsoft said April 20. Huston, 39, born in Canada, is currently corporate vice president of the Small and Mid-Market Solutions & Partners Group in the United States.

5 Japan makers to sell PCs with Windows XP Media Center OS

TOKYO, Aug. 6 Kyodo - Michael Rawding, president of Microsoft Co., the Japan arm of Microsoft Corp., speaks at a news conference at a Tokyo hotel Aug. 6. He said five of Japan's major computer makers will start selling personal computers (PCs) equipped with the Japanese version of the Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system in the fall. The five are Fujitsu Ltd., Hitachi Ltd., NEC Corp., Sotec Co., and Toshiba Corp.
