Rescuers resume search for victims under crashed train cars

SHONAI, Japan - The second car of the six-car express train Inaho No. 14, which derailed on Dec. 25, is raised by a mobile crane in the town of Shonai, Yamagata Prefecture, on Dec. 27. Police and firefighters continue their work to check whether any passengers were buried underneath.

Death toll in Yamagata derailment reaches 4

SHONAI, Japan - A police officer stands by the derailed cars of the express train Inaho No. 14 in the town of Shonai, Yamagata Prefecture, on Dec. 26. The train was derailed between Sagoshi and Kita-Amarume stations on the East Japan Railway Co.'s Uetsu Line on Dec. 25 as it was heading to Niigata from Akita. Four people were killed in the accident.
