When the fresh jasmine flowers are harvested, they are blended with layers of tea leaves. Workers stir the tea leaves and flowers overnight, allowing the leaves to absorb the aromatic scent of the jasmine blossoms. The hot and humid climate and the sandy soil in Hengzhou City of south China's Guangxi provide favorable conditions for jasmine and tea plants to thrive. Hengzhou's jasmine planting area reached 131,000 mu (about 8,733 hectares) in 2023, with a fresh flower yield of 103,000 tonnes.
