Kin of missing Ehime Maru students, crew arrive in Honolulu

HONOLULU, United States - Miyako Sakashima (C), the mother of Toshiya, a student whose body was recovered from the sunken Japanese fishery training ship Ehime Maru, arrives at the Honolulu International Airport on Oct. 20. A total of 11 relatives of three people whose bodies have been recovered and identified arrived in Honolulu.

HONOLULU, United States - Tatsuyoshi Mizuguchi (L), Miyako Sakashima (C), and Ryosuke Terata -- family members of some of the nine Japanese who went missing following the Feb. 9 collision between the U.S. submarine Greeneville and the Japanese training ship Ehime Maru off Hawaii -- meet the press in Honolulu on March 5 after the end of the first day of the U.S. Navy's Court of Inquiry. Relatives of the missing were allocated six of the 54 spectator seats at the inquiry which is looking into the collision.

HONOLULU, United States - Two bodies recovered by the U.S. Navy from the sunken Japanese fisheries training ship Ehime Maru are those of Toshimichi Furuya (L in file photo), 47, and Toshiya Sakashima, 17, the City and County of Honolulu Medical Examiner said Oct. 19. A total of nine Japanese went missing when the Ehime Maru was hit and sunk by a U.S. submarine in February. Five bodies have been recovered.
