Independence referendum rally in Aceh draws huge crowds

Banda Aceh, Indonesia - Hundreds of thousands of people gathered Nov. 8 in Banda Aceh, the capital of Indonesia's Aceh Province, to demand a referendum on independence. One of the rally organizers, M. Sayuti of the pro-referendum SIRA group, said one million people would attend the rally, almost a fourth of the province's population.
