Car maker Skoda Auto invested more than EUR500m (some Kc12.8bn) in its Czech plants in 2018, and it will invest EUR2bn (some Kc51.2bn) in electromobility and new mobility solutions in the next four years, the company said at its annual press conference today, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. The company's business results were affected by large investments in new technology - electromobility and digitisation, higher personnel costs and unfavourable exchange rates, board chairman Bernhard Maier (centre) said. Other reasons included new emission standard WLTP, and geopolitics, chiefly the US-Chinese trade dispute and Brexit. Board members Klaus-Dieter Schurmann (left) and Bohdan Wojnar (right).
