Pine trees along the Tokaido Highway. These were called Awazu-no-Seiran ( sunny-day storm of Awazu ) because the trees made the whining sound of a storm on windy days. Traffic dropped on the highway after the opening of the railroad line. The caption reads Kanazawa in English. The place called Kanazawa Hakkei does not exist but originates from the woodblock print by Hiroshige. Sakurababa Weir of Nakashima River

This is a scene of the Sakurababa and Irabayashi neighbourhoods near the fork of Nakashima River and Narutaki River (present-day Nakanohashi bridge). This scenery was given the poetic name Sakuraba Seiran (cherry blossom storm) and was known as one of the eight best scenes of Nagasaki.
