Teams of Chinese experts have been conducting vocational training on handicrafts such as rattan weaving, bamboo weaving, and woodworking in Burundi since 1985. The Kamenge handicraft vocational training center, an institute that the Chinese government helped to establish, successfully hosted 14 sessions of such training to date for about 600 locals from poor families.
