TOKYO, Japan - American sumo wrestler Sentoryu, a No. 12 maegashira from the Tomozuna stable, hoists fiance Maki Takaoka at a press conference Sept. 1 when the couple announced plans to get married in February. Sentoryu, whose real name is Henry Armstrong Miller, is originally from St. Louis, Missouri.

The list shows he is to debut in the elite makuuchi division as a No. 13 maegashira. Sentoryu is the first wrestler from the mainland United States to reach the division. On left is Kaio, who takes over the top sekiwake position after winning the summer tournament as a komusubi. He will be listed at sumo's third-highest rank for the 21st time in his career.
