Commemoration of Turkish warship sinking

WAKAYAMA, Japan - Turkish Ambassador to Japan Sermet Atacanli (R) throws flowers to the Pacific Ocean in a ceremony to commemorate the fatal sinking in 1890 of a Turkish warship, held aboard a Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer off Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture, on June 3, 2010. The surviving crew of the Ertugrul received hospitality from local residents.
