Seven & i sells Ito-Yokado supermarket chain to U.S. fund

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows the seven different products of Aqlifoods Co., a subsidiary of Maruha Nichiro Holdings Inc., in which malathion, an organic phosphate typically used as a pesticide, was detected. Aqlifoods said Dec. 31, 2013, that pesticide residue found in some of its frozen food products could sicken a child who consumed just one-eighth of a croquette, dramatically revising its previous estimate of 60 croquettes comprising a toxic dose.
