US: Flooding Leaves 2 Homes Lost, Disaster Emergency Declared in Southwest CO

At least two homes were lost, and hundreds of homes were evacuated after unprecedented flooding swept through southwestern Colorado over the weekend. Gov. Jared Polis declared a disaster emergency for La Plata and Archuleta counties on Sunday, October 12.

US: Seven Springs Fire Rages in New Mexico, Prompts Evacuation

The Seven Springs Fire raged through Nogal Canyon on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in New Mexico, burning about 300 acres as of Tuesday, June 17. 'Go Now' evacuation orders have been in place for some areas.

This photo was taken from around the beginning point of Seven Hot Springs Road. The road goes down to theJakotsu River from where the fence of Kikkaso ends, after going up present-day National Route 1 between Fujiya Hotel main building and Kikkaso. The house at the bottom of the hill is Yorozuya. From there, Umeya, Tsutaya, and Sengokuya stand. The roofs of these spa houses are thatched.
