A statement released by the CTD of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province said the arrested terrorists belonged to the banned organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and they were identified as Adil Shehbaz, Muhammad Shafiq Qureshi, Zahid Qureshi and Nazeer Hussain. The statement added that all the arrested militants hail from the northwest Mansehra district, while the "terrorist Shehbaz has admitted to playing a pivotal role in the execution of the attack."
