The marathon was 21 km, approximately half the distance of a standard race, and took about three hours to finish. Participants from Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Türkiye, the Philippines and Japan took part in the marathon, along with 70 observers and judges, said Abdul-Hamed Shbet, head of the Organizing Committee.
