Dogo Onsen bathhouse to fully resume operations

Photo taken on July 9, 2024, shows Shirasagi-no-Ma private room in the main building of the Dogo Onsen bathhouse in Matsuyama in Ehime Prefecture, western Japan. The bathhouse, which is listed as a property of national cultural significance, is scheduled to resume full operations on July 11 after about five and a half years of repairs.

Miyanoshita Spa

This is Miyanoshita as seen from Mukoyama. The white building in the centre is the Naraya Hotel completed n 1887. As Fujiya Hotel, built in 189,1 is visible behind, this photo was taken after that. The large two-story building at the right is the Tsutaya Ryokan (Inn). Shirasagi Waterfall and Hayakawa River are seen below. Himeji Castle

Himeji Castle (Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, National Treasure, also know as Shirasagi [White Heron] Castle) is viewed from the southeast. Mid-Meiji Period. This five-level seven-story donjon was built after the old three-story donjon built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi was demolished.
