Jeanne Barseghian, the ecologist mayor of Strasbourg, declared a state of climate emergency when she was elected, insisting on the greening of the city, an ecological, democratic and social issue. The objective is to increase the canopy index from 26% to 30% by 2050. A budget of one million euros has been set aside to plant trees on all sites in the city that allow it.
