Shuri Castle under reconstruction

Photo taken on Dec. 15, 2025, shows the south-side corridor that is connected to the main hall (back) of Shuri Castle, now under reconstruction, in Naha in the southern Japan island prefecture of Okinawa. The corridor, together with the west-side corridor and the main hall, is to be completed in the autumn of 2026, seven years after fire gutted the World Heritage-listed castle in October 2019.

US: Brush Fire Rages in South Miami-Dade, Shutting Down Roads to Florida Keys 2

A brush fire has burned thousands of acres of land in South Miami-Dade, leading to the closure of the roads connecting the Florida Keys and the mainland. The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon on the mainland side of Card Sound Road, which remained closed on Wednesday. U.S. 1 was also closed temporarily on Tuesday due to the smoky conditions but reopened later that night.

South Africa: Fire Breaks Out On Table Mountain, Prompting Road Closures 3

A fire broke out in Newlands Ravine on Sunday, February 23. The flames spread quickly to other parts of Table Mountain and moved to Cape Town’s central business district due to strong winds. The flame prompted road closures in the nearby area. There are no reports of injuries at the time of writing. This video shows the firefighting operation by a helicopter on the Newlands fire.
