The day the cold drop reached Valencia, the owner of the house climbed up to the attic of the house to protect himself from the water because the lower part of the house was destroyed. After two days incommunicado, an aunt heard his screams and was able to rescue him. He is now in hospital with mobility and circulation problems. The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published today the declaration of area seriously affected by a Civil Protection emergency in the territory affected by the DANA in the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Aragon. This declaration is accompanied by a package of measures valued at 10,600 million euros aimed at mitigating the effects of the DANA.
