Conductor Albrecht dies

TOKYO, Japan - Photo taken in December 2001 shows German conductor Gerd Albrecht. Albrecht died Feb. 2, 2014, in Berlin from an illness at the age of 78. He led the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra as principal conductor from 1998 to 2007 after serving as music director of Germany's Hamburg State Opera and chief conductor of the Czech Philharmonic.
