Japan protests against German daily on crown prince's photo

BERLIN, Germany - The Japanese Embassy in Berlin protested Feb. 24 against a major German daily for carrying a picture of Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito with an indecent caption. In the cover photo of the Sueddeutsche Zeitung's free magazine insert, a slang expression suggesting ''impotent'' was printed in yellow letters on the prince's trousers. The couple has no children, meaning there is no heir to the throne in the next generation.
