Landscape-conscious design applied to new National Stadium

TOKYO, Japan - An expert panel discusses an alternative design of the new National Stadium, the main venue of the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, in Tokyo on May 28, 2014. The panel approved a plan to lower the height of the structure from around 75 meters to around 70 meters in view of surrounding landscapes.

Aquarium atop Roppongi high-rise is hot date spot

TOKYO, Japan - A couple stares at an undersea landscape reproduced inside a cylindrical tank housed in the Sky Aquarium III on the 250-meter-high observation deck atop Mori Tower, a landmark high-rise of the Roppongi Hills business and entertainment area on July 17. The aquarium is part of an annual summer event held inside the tower and will be open until Oct. 4.
