Sunspot research expedition leaves for Antarctica

TOKYO, Japan - The icebreaker Shirase carrying a Japanese expedition leaves Tokyo's Harumi pier Nov. 14 for the Japanese base in Antarctica. The 42nd Antarctic region observation party is scheduled to arrive at the Showa base in late December and will observe sunspots and conduct other research.
