Once completed, it will be the largest photovoltaic power station in Tunisia. The station is a joint project of two Chinese companies: China Energy Engineering Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd (Energy China TEPC) and Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd (NWEPDI) of China Power Engineering Consulting Group. The start of construction on this project is a major step forward for Tunisian energy diversification and transformation.
