On Monday, March 24, protests broke out in several Indonesian cities (Sukabumi, Surabaya, Palangka Raya, Lumajang, and Malang) against the country's newly revised military law. Students opposing the expanded role of active-duty military officers in civilian positions clashed violently with security forces, resulting in multiple injuries and dozens of arrests.
