A group of kidnappers, according to the official, was attempting to kidnap a businessman from Taimany area of Kabul city late Monday, but police gunned down four kidnappers and rescued the businessman. The Taliban-run caretaker government has vowed to crack down on criminals and illegal activities, including kidnapping, drug trafficking, armed robbery and militancy elsewhere in the war-torn country.
