Taiwan: Typhoon Bavi Downs Trees Across Taiwan, Knocks Out Power

Typhoon Bavi brought damage across Taiwan through Saturday, July 11, with landslides, flooding, and fallen trees reported in several cities. As of 1 p.m., more than 168,000 homes across Taiwan experienced power outages.

Taiwan: Power Outage Hits Songshan Airport and Zhongshan District

On Monday, December 1, sudden power outages struck Songshan Airport and parts of Zhongshan District in Taipei. At the airport, the international terminal lost power at 1:36 PM, but backup generators kept check-in and customs operations running. Some escalators and VIP lounge lighting were briefly affected. Taipower confirmed a disconnected feeder line caused the outage, which was fully restored by 2:48 PM. No flights were disrupted. In Zhongshan District, residents experienced both power and internet outages, affecting 4,698 users. Social media users shared reactions highlighting the sudden disruption and inconvenience.
